Cook County Extension serves as a local link between University of Minnesota
projects, services and research. Our Extension Committee reviews county
needs and designates programming or services to meet those needs with both
county and extended resources. We directly support youth development
through collaboration with Community Education and Cook County KIDS PLUS.
Current efforts support educational resources for further development of
sustainability in energy, food, housing and business. Soil testing
services, U of M Master Gardeners, Northwoods Food Project and the
agriculture / horticulture library housed at the Extension office underwrite
individual and business endeavors. Cold climate housing, Great Decisions,
higher education, international public forums have all been sponsored or
developed in response to local requests. Our yearly program plan is fluid
and can be changed quickly to respond to changing county requests from
County Commissioners, local groups and individuals. Please contact the
Extension office at 218-387-3015 or e-mail diane.booth@co.cook.mn.us with
how you feel our local Cook County Extension office can help you or your
group.
